Frequently Asked Questions
What is direct billing for dental treatment?
Direct billing means we submit your dental insurance claim electronically to your insurance provider on your behalf. This helps simplify the payment process and reduces the paperwork you need to complete.
Which insurance providers do you direct bill?
We electronically submit claims to most insurance providers that participate in the CDAnet network. If you’re unsure whether your plan is supported, our team would be happy to check your coverage before your appointment.
For plans outside the CDAnet network, we are still able to submit preauthorizations and claims manually, using secure email, fax, or mail. Please provide us with your insurance details, and our team will take care of the submission process on your behalf.
What information do I need to provide for direct billing?
Before your appointment, we’ll ask you to provide your dental insurance information along with some personal details through our patient intake forms. This allows us to process your claim accurately and efficiently.
Do you accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
Yes. We submit claims for eligible patients covered under the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) using the same electronic claims process whenever applicable.
Will I have to pay anything at my appointment?
Depending on your insurance coverage, you may be responsible for any portion of your treatment that is not covered by your plan. We’ll explain any estimated out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins.
What if my insurance provider doesn’t support electronic claims?
If your insurance provider doesn’t accept electronic submissions, our team can assist with the claims process by preparing the information needed for you to submit your claim to your insurer.
